Alice in the Walled Garden

27 July – 11 August 2013 (suitable for years 5+)
Adapation by Bradley Cole with original music by Guy Holden
“More than ever it is the young and energetic cast that really make the experience… Come rain or shine this is a perfect summer holiday activity, with plenty to offer young and old alike.” – South London Press ****
Alice in the Walled Garden is an hour long adaptation of Lewis Carroll stories, in a specially commissioned play in the beautiful walled garden in Brockwell Park.
Since 2009, Brixton Community Base has worked in partnership with Sixteenfeet Productions to present a Professional production as part of the MAD (Music, Art and Drama) season in Brockwell Park, supported by a programme of workshops for children. These creative workshops are led by Associate Director Nicholas Anthony and other members of the company.
Workshops
- The Wednesday and Thursday workshops will introduce children to the fun of the rehearsal room creating their own characters and learning the Lobster Quadrille dance from Alice in the Walled Gardens. These workshops cost £5 and run for 90 minutes.
- On other days there will be informal workshops to colour-in images of the different characters and plant some seeds to take back to your garden and grow – hopefully creating your very own part of Brockwell Park’s Walled Garden! These workshops cost £2 and run for an hour.
